One of the features I used on Yahoo groups was the daily summary email. Rather than getting a bunch of email messages throughout the day, I could review a single email to find out about rides, conversations, and discussions. I haven't seen a preference that I can turn on to enable this.

I also use RSS feeds regularly to notify me of new conversations on message boards like this. My RSS client will popup a small message telling me of the topics with new messages. I don't see an RSS feed ...

Hello Folks,

Have been a while since ride with you guy last year to Modesto...

I am thinking of going a trip from Fresno to Monterey than down hiway 1 along the coast to Morro bay, spend night there

than back to Fresno (this is a big loop for me). Will be more fun if you have a passenger.

Plan for Lunch in Monterey and dinner in Morro bay.

I just wonder if anyone is interesting for this ride?.... will be Oct 17th or Oct 24th weekend. (Sat and Sun only)

If interest on this ride, ...

I am from Newark. I have a 2009 Grandvista 250 that I purchased from Nichols Motor Sports. Have only been riding since last November (had to stop for a while due to the rains though). I really like my GV and some day will probably get a Silverwing as a second scooter.

Todays ride is Carmel Valley rd in Monterey county. It was 9am when I got there and the road was still wet and slippery so I was really slow movin' through there. About half way through the sun was already shining and the road condition was getting better but it was still cold. Bcuz of the holiday there wasn't 2many other vehicle and a good thing too, there was a lot of blind turns and other hazardous conditions.

I'm sure the ride would've been a lot better if it was spring or summer time. ...

The 1st is Kings Mtn rd and 2nd was Tunitas Creek rd then I used La Honda back up to Woodside. The IMS was jammed packed saturday, I only took a few pics from the show.
Hi all,

I would like to remind everyone that we are migrating back to the Yahoo site. Please go there and look at the post I just made concerning a 2009 Rally for us. I would also like everyone to go to the People's Map and put in your nick and city so we can all see where a central location would be to meet and start some good rides. Also, offer some suggestions too if you would.

Hi,

Is anyone planning on riding in December? I ride everyday to work but was wondering if anyone is interested in a ride. The only day I can make a longer ride is a week from this Saturday or Sunday. Since it is getting close to Xmas I will be busy after the next weekend. I'm sure that any rides that happen this month will probably just be informal rides. If anyone is interested in a ride next Saturday, Dec 13th, I would be up for something. Just let me know.

Also, who all are ...

After trying for months to see if this new format and location would work well for our group, from the feedback, it seems that it doesn't.

So, in order to satisfy the requests and encourage more online participation, the old yahoo groups site has been re-opened for posting. To find it, go to groups.yahoo.com and search for BayAreaMaxiRiders.

This site will still remain up for a while to allow people time to move back to the Yahoo Groups location.

Hope that this works better ...

We meet at this location on our October ride and the owner seemed like a really nice guy. He even donated a neat gas tank filler item for a raffle we had. Here is his website for his shop in Modesto. Maybe some of us can stop by sometime and give him some business. He has a really large show room for merchandise.

Thanks again Dave for donating a prize for our raffle.

Hello everyone.....

Any of you guys interested in Oct ride?... I am thinking before it's too cold we should have another ride.

The ride will be only on the weekend, either will start from Stockton or Modesto and target on Hiway 49

to Oakhurst than 41 to Fresno and Hiway 99 back to the start point. This ride will take all day long.... I will

find out more info. on the date and time and each stop for break. If you can carry a passenger with you that

will be cool and fun.......... ...

I know I asked this before, but can't find the post, but who would be interested in trying an Iron Butt ride? It is 1,000 miles in 24 hours so it would be best to just ride up I-5 or another interstate. I think Scott said he was interested and a few others said no. I just figure if we want to do this we may want to think about this before December.

Just found out about a new club, recently formed, called Marin Vesparados. Talked to its organizer, a guy named Fred Eisenhart. The first club ride is Saturday, October 11, in the Marin Headlands. The meet-up is at 1:00 at Vespa Marin in Corte Madera. All scooters are welcome, regardless of make or size. For more info, go to www.MarinVesparados.com and get on the mailing list. Unfortunately I will be out of town, so I won't make it, but maybe some others in the Marin area can. ...

In the past four weeks, I've sold our Hobbi Toy Hauler, my Piaggio MP3 and, today, I sold--and delivered to Oakland--my Atlantic! I'm very happy with the Burgman, and believe that it'll be my only bike for years to come.

Small groups anyone?

Hey All,

I've not been on many BAMR rides yet because I prefer smaller groups, like 2-4 scoots. Anyone else like me? I'm up for a ride like that on Saturday, as the wife will be out of town.

If more than 4 are interested, then I'd suggest splitting up by location (I'm in Fairfield) or desired route, with each group doing its own thing independently.

Vespa 250GT wobble

My new GT 250 Vespa wobbles around 30 mph. Vendor gave me some weights to put on the end of the handlebars. That helped but there's still a distinct wobble at that speed. I'm wondering if this is endemic to all new Vespas of my model and don't know where to go from here. Anyone else suffering this malady, or heard about it? I'm more concerned about safety than anything else and the vendor won't help.

Thanks in advance for any input.

SELLING MY 2007 PIAGGIO 500 X9

In the 7 months since I bought it I have come to realize that there are several reasons for me to sell it:

It is a little too heavy for me

The closest repair shop is not at all convenient

    I bought Gene's 2005 Burgman 400

It has never been down, has the warrenty work done and 5 months left on warrenty, and I have added a backrest and luggage rack.

So it you know anyone who is interested, just let me know.

Thanks, Bonnie

What are BAMR members using for rider-to-rider communication? I'd love to see some discussion of this here, as we are mostly about organizing group rides. Most importantly, to standardize on a mode: CB, FRS, GMRS, something else? Thoughts?
